Take the City Out of City Water

Water is the universal solvent. It picks up many potential contaminants on the long journey to your home from its start as a raindrop. Imagine what it picks up just from the many miles of corroded underground piping. The general water quality is good. But it’s just not feasible for any municipality to purify water on a large scale when less than one percent of that water is for consumption.

Yes, city water is treated, principally with chlorine. That chlorine is pathogenically safe. But when it reacts with organic matter in water, it produces disinfection by-products (DBPs) such as chloramines, trihalomethanes, and haloacetic acids. DBPs have been linked to serious health problems. Beyond that, chlorine enters the body through breathing, drinking, and skin absorption. Showering in chlorinated water can aggravate skin conditions like eczema and cause itching and excessive dryness in people with otherwise normal skin. Chlorine also dries out hair and can cause allergic rashes.

The most common trihalomethane is chloroform, a potential carcinogen. Studies show the amount of chloroform inhaled and absorbed during a typical shower can be six times higher than the amount consumed by drinking chlorinated water. And because chlorinated water is corrosive, it dissolves heavy metals such as lead, copper, zinc, cadmium, and aluminum in piping on the way to your faucet.

Two Easy, Inexpensive Steps

We take the city out of city water by installing:

  1. A filter with a special blend of activated carbons that removes the chlorine taste and odor from all your water and reduces disinfection by-products.
  2. A reverse-osmosis (RO) system that can supply a separate kitchen sink-mounted faucet and your refrigerator with healthy, purified drinking water.

As part of our rental program, you can have both systems in your home for an installation charge of $199, plus $39.00 a month. That includes all service, maintenance, parts, filters, and media.

What's The Cost of Your Water?

Do you buy your drinking water at the supermarket? Do you put filters on your faucets? Do you put softeners in your laundry? Do you buy Iron Out and Rust Raze to try and remove stains? Do you add up the cost? We do.

We can treat your home’s entire water supply – and purify your drinking water – for less than the cost of bottled-water delivery. And we believe so much in our prices and service that we offer free evaluations of water and existing systems. No cost. No obligations.

Send us a note in the box to the right. Pure water is just a tap away.
